on Nutrition Bars

What to expect

The nutrition bar market has exploded and continued growth is expected due to demand for the convenience of on-the-go nourishment. The range of choices for these ready-to-eat staples can be overwhelming, and despite their popularity, concern exists among nutritionally savvy consumers and their healthcare professionals that some nutrition bars are nothing more than glorified candy that contain substances which may not be safe or necessary. The right nutrition bar can be a valuable tool to help patients stay on track with their healthy lifestyle initiatives. Fortunately, clinical principles can be applied to identify the best-in-class nutrition bars.

Join integrative medicine researcher Dr. Rita Ellithorpe for a practical, patient-relevant discussion about the need for and development of food-based, low-glycemic bars. Dr. Ellithorpe is an advocate for nutrition being a critical component of optimal health. She has partnered with researchers and healthcare providers to formulate nutrition bars and offers an insider’s look at the complex development process.
